Ray "Beefy" Neades grew up in the small town of Mooseknuckle, Nebraska.

His father was a coal miner and his mother slung hash at the only breakfast joint in town.

Beefy's musical talents began to shine through at an early
age. He played lead triangle in his elementary school marching band, and by the time he got to high school he was proficient at the kazoo and glockenspiel.

With a bad case of the small town blues, Beefy packed up and moved to L.A. upon graduating high school. It's here where he met Pete "100% Pure Angus" Cassani. Pete had just signed a three record deal with a major label.
Beefy convinced 100% Pure to give up his record deal and come start an AC/DC cover band with him.

The two packed up and headed for San Francisco where they ran into Phil "Cudd" DerBoghosian. Cudd was dancing at a club called The Tool Box. It was demeaning work for a heterosexual Armenian from Boston, but Cudd needed the money to support his screaming crank habit.

After convincing Cudd to dry out in a detox for two weeks and join the band, the trio jumped in Beefy's VW van and headed to Boston. It's here where they met Slade "Heifer Williams" Anderson and Billy "Milk'em Young" Close. The boys convinced Heifer and Milk'em to quit their day jobs, leave their wives and kids and come join the band. Beefy DC was finally complete.

They quickly shot to the top of the Boston rock heap and they haven't looked back since. Their road to stardom wasn't always easy.
Beefy DC had their share of ups and downs, some small and some big, but none quite as big as the tragic balloon accident that almost took Heifer's life while on tour in Paducah, Kentucky.

But, the band persevered and today they are still going strong, destined to go down in the annals of rock as the
"biggest" AC/DC tribute band that ever lived.
